  In 2005, the Nebraska Business Higher Education Forum (NBHEF) asked the Rural Initiative to develop a publication showcasing business success stories in rural Nebraska. The result of that request, Finding a Home in the Country, profiles eight businesses from a bed and breakfast in Columbus to a high-tech communications company in Diller.
