In 2007, the Rural Initiative supported research that has been used by the WNDN to inform their efforts at workforce recruitment in the Nebraska Panhandle. The study, "Moving to the Rural Great Plains: Point of Origin Differences in the Decision Making Process," was cited by the Denver Consulting Firm GBSM in a marketing plan commissioned by WNDN to source, attract, recruit and retain families in the Panhandle.
